This workshop is a celebration of the ladies of scientific illustration for Women’s History Month.
Skye Young has developed her Nature Communication workshops to explore natural science communication techniques, and in this special edition we'll be taking inspiration from four different women illustrators, with short practices to engage with each!
Come as you are—pets, snacks, and comfy clothes welcome.
Suggested materials
- A sketchbook
- A journal (can also use your sketchbook if you don’t mind writing practices in your sketchbook)
- Your favorite writing implement
- Any artistic supplies you feel most comfortable with!
- A tool to do a little research (iPad, computer, phone etc)
About Skye Young
Skye Young (she/her) of The Curious Hound is an illustrator and educator with an MA in Scientific Illustration and working on an MA in Biology & Conservation. Through The Curious Hound, she aims to provide engaging and accessible natural science educational material and workshops. She lives with her husband Zach, hound dog Possum, and their cat, Poe in Denver, Colorado. Her artwork is an exploration of the inextricable connection humans have with the natural world around us, through life and death, and a celebration of beauty and inquiry.
