About

Learn how painting watercolor vignettes or small scenes can get you painting more and faster. Artist Bridgette Meinhold will help us explore techniques and tricks with watercolor painting that will help you find more fulfillment out of your time spent making art or simply help you make art in shorter amounts of time (perfect for capturing scenes when you're traveling, on a road trip, or just want to add a little more creativity into your everyday). This class is great for all levels of skill in watercolor and we will practice with a couple of small watercolor paintings to show by example that you can paint effectively in a short amount of time.

  • Watercolor paint ( you can also use gouache or acrylic )
  • Mixed media or watercolor paper, 2-3 pages no bigger than 8x10"

About Bridgette Meinhold

Bridgette Meinhold is a conceptual artist based in Park City, UT where she is known for her atmospheric, foggy encaustic landscape paintings, which she shows in galleries across the Mountain West. Nature is the starting point for all of Meinhold’s work and her inspiration comes from watching the weather, walking in forests and through mindful observation of our environment. Besides encaustics, Meinhold has a regular sketchbook practice where she documents her travels with watercolor, pen and ink. She also often paints the landscape “en plein air” while out on hikes, bike rides, and even while backcountry skiing. Meinhold also creates her own inks and paints out of foraged materials, creates conceptual projects to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues, and makes ephemeral snow labyrinths as an act of moving meditation.
